 | | | MAY 2006 NEWSLETTER
Consistency
When Trow initially offered me the opportunity to draft this month’s newsletter, I was uncertain as to
just what it was I wanted to relay. Typically when you speak with me, or Cassi, it’s strictly in a service capacity
or to coordinate an engagement. While we don’t often find ourselves sitting in on your quarterly meetings, we
are very much involved in the preparation for the appointment, and are typically tasked with the majority of the
resulting action items.
It has been almost 9 months since our departure from Legacy Advisors and almost six months since we
moved into our new office here in Reston. While we still get the feeling that the dust has just settled, the truth of
the matter is that we have been back to business as usual since early in the first quarter. By now you have
probably noticed a return to the systems and processes that we operated in the past, and hopefully you have
noticed our efforts to tighten them and make them more efficient.
We are working hard to make certain
portfolio performance reports go out on schedule and are accurate. We endeavor to time the scheduling of
appointments with the receipt of these reports. When you meet with Trow we have portfolio recommendations
and agendas drafted well in advance, and we try to get the notes of these meetings to you within 24 hours of the
discussion. Meeting note action items are then distributed to the appropriate team members and we are closely
tracking the status of all deliverables. Assigned actions are then completed and the process begins anew when
triggered by the creation of your next performance report.
Why am I presenting you with this overview of our key system of operation? It is because we want to
reiterate our desire to be consistent in providing you with as comprehensive and efficient a service as possible.
There are so many variables in life that we cannot expect or account for, and this should not be the case with
your financial advisor. We look to be a reliable resource that you can depend on, and through the operation of
well-documented systems and processes we can provide that stability.
It is through the refinement of these
systems and processes that Trow is able to concentrate on utilizing his unique expertise in financial planning
and analysis. Cassi, Adam, and I are then able to be responsive to your present concerns (By the way, Adam
Smith will be coming on board full time in June). Knowing that you have a dedicated, capable team supporting
you and helping your reach your financial goals is in my estimation the most compelling benefit of a
relationship with Dominion Wealth Management.
What is the most compelling benefit for you? What is it you like about what we do? What could we do
better? As Dominion Wealth continues to grow, so do the systems we operate. We greatly appreciate your
feedback in helping us continually modify and perfect our services and procedures. We take a great deal of
pride in our work, and we find great reward in providing you with a peace of mind that your plan is on track,
and that your goals will be realized.
Thank you kindly for your time, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Matt Brennan, Vice President- Planning & Investments
