“Most of us were not taught how to effectively manage money...so we provide you with relevant information”

MAY 2008 NEWSLETTER

Welcome to The Retirement Income Planning Series

With all of our clients focused on retirement, it is with great enthusiasm that we begin this six month series of our newsletter. We hope you enjoy the new content and the new, more easily read format. As your “partner” in your wealth planning and preservation, we are committed to keeping you informed as necessary without too much technical detail. Our goal is to be brief and clear. In addition to the newsletter, you will be invited to spend some time with us, one-to-one, in a 15 minute phone review as it relates to the monthly topic.

So let’s begin with the five most influential factors of your wealth preservation (in no particular order):

  • Withdrawal Rates
  • Inflation
  • Asset Allocation
  • Health Care Costs
  • Longevity

This is no secret, but as investors, you are responsible for knowing how each of these impacts you as you enter the retirement planning or spending years. You can not control the stock market, the bond market, the real estate market or inflation. But you can control and/or influence the five areas noted above. That is why we are focusing on this. Every move counts as you get closer to using your hard earned savings and investments; your decisions about your finances, your health, your living style all add up to living comfortably, or not.

Here is our list of titles:

June: What withdrawal rate is best for me and my portfolio?
July: Playing with Inflation
August: Allocating Assets As We Age
September: The Connection between Health Care and Wealth Care
October: Longevity: how long will you and your wealth last?

Look for our commentary on or around the 15th of each month. Please let us know of your continued interest in our commentary.

Forward this to friends and family that are considering issues around retirement so that they too can benefit from this important, yet easy to understand, series.

Best regards,
